Exciting Team Amazing Race in Adelaide CBD

September 8, 2016

Spring had certainly sprung on todays event in the Adelaide CBD with beautiful sunny skies and mild temperatures. Todays participants were the 1st year tourism students from Tafe SA and they were in for a great insight into business tourism and team building through todays event.

Kicking off the day the 42 students were put into 7 teams and once they discovered the race was on the competitive spirit started fill the mood and we were in for a great race around the city.

Highlights from today's Adelaide Amazing race come from iconic paddle boats or leg burners as a number of participants commented after we put them through their race course. Also always a hit is the pancake stack challenge with all the crew tucking into some delicious pancake treats. Other great moments from today's race came from a perfectly choreographed macarena dance by Team Won (Purple). Team Hop A Long (pink) using vespas, trams, skateboards, trolleys and more as they trekked around the city. Absolute commitment and teamwork from Hakuna Matata (blue) showing care, love for their team members, even if they were not able to compete on all levels because of a disability.

As the teams raced into YHA Adelaide it would see various strategies unfold in each of the teams. The winning team proved the aim of the race to be both and fast is cleverest way to do our Amazing Race and so it was fitting that the aptly name Team Won (purple) took out the trophy today. The Girls Stars (Green) were the next team to arrive, but couldn't make up for head start they had given to Team Won (purple). Bringing up the tail and the coveted wooden spoon today were the A - Team, who must have stopped for a fine dining experience finishing a massive 55 minutes behind the leaders.

Over all a great day had by all the Tafe SA students and another great team event from Beyond the Boardroom.
